Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 5, 2026. This policy explains how Pinterest Bulk Pins collects, uses, and protects your data when you install and use our Shopify app.

1. Who We Are

Pinterest Bulk Pins is developed and operated by Double Cart. When we say "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, we mean Double Cart and the Pinterest Bulk Pins application.

2. Data We Access

When you install Pinterest Bulk Pins, the app requests permission to access certain data from your Shopify store. Here is exactly what we access and why:

Store Owner Information

What we access: Store owner name, email address, phone number, and physical address.

Why we need it: This information is used solely for account identification and billing purposes. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Shopify's billing API associates the charge with your store owner identity. We also use your email to send critical account notifications such as subscription confirmations, billing updates, and support correspondence. We never share, sell, or use your personal information for marketing to third parties.

Product Data

What we access: Products and collections — including titles, descriptions, images, prices, variants, tags, product types, vendors, SKUs, and handles.

Why we need it: Product data is the core of what our app does. We read your product catalog to:

  • Display products for you to select in the export wizard
  • Generate Pinterest-formatted CSV files with your product data
  • Map product fields (title, description, images, tags) to Pinterest pin columns
  • Generate AI-powered descriptions and keywords based on your product information (Business plan)
  • Load products from specific collections for batch export (Pro & Business plans)

We do not modify, create, or delete any products in your Shopify store. Our access is read-only.

3. Data We Store

We store the following data in our database:

  • Shop domain — your myshopify.com domain, used to identify your store and enforce data isolation between stores.
  • Subscription information — your current plan (Free, Pro, or Business), subscription status, trial dates, and billing cycle dates. This is synced from Shopify's billing API.
  • Export history — a record of your CSV exports, including date, product count, row count, and file name. We optionally store the CSV content for your last 20 exports so you can re-download them from the History page.
  • Mapping templates — saved pin configurations (board, title pattern, description source, keywords, scheduling preferences). These are stored so you can reuse them across exports.
  • AI usage counts — a monthly counter of AI generation credits used (Business plan). No product content is retained after generating descriptions.

4. Data We Do NOT Store

  • We do not permanently store your product catalog data. Product information is fetched live from Shopify each time you start an export.
  • We do not store customer data. We have no access to your store's customer information.
  • We do not store payment information. All billing is handled through Shopify's secure billing API.

5. Third-Party Services

Shopify: We use Shopify's Admin API and Billing API to access your store data and manage subscriptions. Shopify's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

AI Services (Business Plan): When you use the AI Writing Assistant, product titles and descriptions are sent to an AI service to generate optimized pin copy. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored by the AI service after generating the response.

We do not share your data with any other third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics providers.

6. Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • Store isolation — each store's data is strictly isolated. Your store can only access its own data.
  • Authentication — every API request is authenticated through Shopify's OAuth flow.
  • Server-side enforcement — plan limits, export quotas, and feature access are enforced server-side, not just in the UI.
  • Encrypted connections — all data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

7. Data Retention

  • Export history records are retained indefinitely so you can view your past exports.
  • CSV content is retained for your most recent 20 exports only. Older CSV content is automatically purged.
  • Mapping templates are retained until you delete them or uninstall the app.

8. Data Deletion

When you uninstall Pinterest Bulk Pins from your Shopify store, we process a webhook from Shopify and delete all data associated with your store, including export history, templates, AI usage records, and subscription data.

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of all data we store about your store
  • Request deletion of your data at any time
  • Uninstall the app, which triggers automatic data deletion
  • Contact us with any privacy concerns
